Run Two WhatsApp Accounts on One Phone Easily

Some users want to be able to switch between two different accounts using one device, for convenience. WhatsApp for them is their lifeline. Some need your Android phone to be rooted. Some just need a dual sim smartphone. Some does not need third-party applications. Here we discuss these helpful hacks.

Method 1. Using an Android Phone that Allows Setup of Guest Users

Perhaps this is the easiest way to use two WhatsApp accounts in one phone. Some of the new Android phones are designed to allow multiple users and guest accounts. With this, you can create another account and download another copy of WhatsApp. Here is the step by step guide on how to use this feature on your phone:

  1. Log in using your primary Google ID.
  2. Install WhatsApp through the Google Play Store.
  3. Open WhatsApp using the primary profile.
  4. Setup the application using the primary sim number.
  5. Create a new Android user.
  6. Log in using the second user profile.
  7. Login using a second Google ID (Create one if you have no secondary email).
  8. Access Google Play Store and download another WhatsApp application.
  9. Set up WhatsApp using the second sim number.

Method 2. Use GbWhatsApp

Another workaround is GbWhatsApp for Android. It boasts some cool features, such as beautiful themes and customization. You can get the same interface in which you can also change icons, colors and themes. Here are the steps for installing GbWhatsApp for your Android device:

  1. Make sure that your phone’s sim card is installed properly.
  2. Download the GbWhatsApp APK file.
  3. Go to the folder where you have placed that apk file.
  4. Install GbWhatsApp on your Android device.
  5. Open the application and register using your sim card number.
  6. Use two WhatsApp accounts in one device.

Method 3. Use Parallel Space

However, if your phone is not built for multiple accounts, you can get an app called Parallel Space. Here are the steps in installing Parallel Space on your device:

  1. The first step is to go to Google Play Store, and search for Parallel Space.
  2. And then, download and install the app.
  3. Upon installation, when you open this app, it will give you a list of all the installed applications on your Android phone.
  4. From there, you can select WhatsApp, and it will be added in the Parallel Space. You can select WhatsApp, nine times.
  5. To use WhatsApp, you can just tap on it to open, and use it like you are using the actual app. You can now create an account.
  6. After setting up the account, you can set go back and open WhatsApp again to set up another account.
  7. Now, you can use two WhatsApp account simultaneously in the same Android phone.

Method 4. Use WhatsApp Business

The WhatsApp team has also created WhatsApp Business which allows you to set up another account using a second mobile number. Here are the steps in adding WhatsApp Business on your Android phone:

  1. Go to Google Play Store and search for WhatsApp Business.
  2. Download and install the application.
  3. Set up your account using the second number.
  4. Use two WhatsApp accounts simultaneously.

Method 5. Use SwitchMe

If you search the Google Play Store for apps that will allow you to use two separate WhatsApp accounts, one of the results will be SwitchMe. This app, however, will require your Android smartphone to be rooted.

(Note: Rooting will allow you to access the Android system code to modify the code or install applications which are not normally added on the phone.)

Here are the steps in using SwitchMe:

  1. Install WhatsApp on your rooted Android phone.
  2. Install SwitchMe Multiple accounts.
  3. Run SwitchMe Mulitple accounts and grant the Superuser request that comes after.
  4. In the SwitchMe app, create a new profile as the administrator account. This is also the profile that is used for WhatsApp which is already installed on the device.
  5. In the SwitchMe app, tap on create a profile and create another profile.
  6. To switch profiles, select the name of the account.
  7. Once your device restarts, and is ready to use again, install WhatsApp again by using the Google Play Store.
  8. Register using a new number.

Method 6. Use OGWhatsApp

If you do not want to root your Android phone, but wants to use two separate WhatsApp accounts, then OGWhatsApp is the Dual WhatsApp method for you. Here are the steps to do it:

  1. Install WhatsApp using the Google Play Store.
  2. Run WhatsApp.
  3. Create a backup of the current data of your WhatsApp, and then restore it.
  4. Delete the WhatsApp data. You can do this by going to App setting and choose WhatsApp, then select Clear Data.
  5. Use a file manager to rename the /sdcard/WhatsApp directory to /sdcard/OGWhatsApp.
  6. Uninstall the first WhatsApp application.
  7. You can now install OGWhatsApp.
  8. After installation, verify your phone number in the OGWhatsApp account.
  9. In order to use your other number, you can re-install the first WhatsApp application.

Method 7. Use Clone app or App twin

Many Android phones, especially the Chinese brands are designed with the Clone app or App twin that is a built-in feature on the phone’s system. If your phone has this feature, it is very easy and simple to set up. Your phone must have two SIM cards. Here is the step by step guide in using this feature:

  1. Using, Google Play Store, install WhatsApp on your phone.
  2. Then go to your phone’s settings.
  3. Select Dual App/Clone App (depending on what your phone features).
  4. After selecting the feature, it will present you with a list of applications which can be cloned or twinned. Turn on this feature for WhatsApp using the toggle.
  5. You can now set up your second WhatsApp profile.
  6. Allow WhatsApp to access your files and contact. And when you get to the page where it asks for your phone number, enter the second phone number.
  7. You can now use two WhatsApp accounts in one Android phone.

Method 8. Use MultiWhatsapp

One of the easiest to use application is MultiWhatsapp. It does not only allow you to use two WhatsApp but you can make as many accounts as you want, and you can also manage each of these accounts. You do not even need to root your Android phone to use it. Here’s how to run this application on your phone:

  1. In order to download MultiWhatsapp, you have to go to their official website and launch the installation from there.
  2. Once the app installation is up, click to build the WhatsApp copy.
  3. The application will then, ask you to install and duplicate your WhatsApp.
  4. You can now create and activate an account.
